2-DPMP

2-DPMP is usually snorted like cocaine or wrapped in cigarette paper and swallowed in a ’bomb’.

There has been limited research of 2-DPMP, but the studies that have been carried out indicate that it is a very potent amphetamine-type stimulant. 2-DPMP is a long-lasting drug, capable of causing severe agitation, which can last for several days after a single dose. The effects of 2-DPMP and related compounds include: feelings of euphoria, alertness, talkativeness, feelings of empathy. Effects that can last as long as 5-7 days – some users have had to go to hospital for help.

Short term:

2-DPMP can cause mood swings and feelings of anxiety, aggression and paranoia. It can be toxic to the brain, causing overstimulation of the nervous system, with severe agitation and hallucinations, or causing fits. It can cause overstimulation of the heart and circulation; and there are reports of altered blood pressure. Potentially dangerous rises in body temperature and overheating of the body have been noted and there may be a risk of kidney failure. Other risks include chest pains, insomnia and muscle spasms. You could end up in hospital or worse. Mixing 2-DPMP or related compounds with alcohol can have serious consequences – the effects interact and you may be less in control of yourself and the situation, making things much riskier. When you buy 2-DPMP or related compounds, you can never be sure that it hasn’t been cut with something else.

Long term:

There is little direct information about 2-DPMP and related compounds. But as it is similar to amphetamines, it is very likely that regular use can become compulsive and can create a state of psychological and physical dependence.

2-DPMP, D2PM and diphenylmethylpyrrolidine are Class B drugs, which means they are now illegal to possess, give away or sell. Possession of a Class B drug can get you up to five years in prison and/or an unlimited fine. Supplying someone else, even your friends, can get you 14 years in jail and/or an unlimited fine.
