2010 Know the Score campaign launch

Friday 22nd January 2010

Community Safety Minister Fergus Ewing launches the Scottish Government’s 2010 Know the Score campaign highlighting the dangers of taking cocaine at a Glasgow Parkour Coaching workshop held within the city’s Tramway Theatre.

The campaign, which specifically targets 16-22-year-olds and will feature advertising in cinemas, buses and online, is aimed at making young Scots aware of the health risks of using cocaine – such as paranoia and chest pains as well as an increased chance of having a heart attack or stroke – so they can make the right choices in life.

Mr Ewing met with a group of Glasgow Parkour Coaching students, including 18-year-old Nina Ballantyne who outlined why she got involved in parkour, the activity made famous in the opening sequence of the James Bond movie Casino Royale, and Dr Saket Priyadarshi who discussed the potential consequences of cocaine use.
